Default Engine knocking but no codes

I have a 2008 Avenger, 2.4 Dual vvt engine. Driving home from work the other day and i noticed it was making noise. my husband had me accelerate and it made it worse. had the oil changed 3 months ago. there are no lights on except for tire pressure, which has been on for a long time, pretty much almost a year. anyway, we parked the car and drove truck (dodge too) for three days until he could look at engine. When we first started it back up, nothing. he let it idle in garage for about ten mins and it kinda started noise again. today i drove it to store and it started doing it again after i had driven a couple miles. when i got home it was just as loud as it had been four days ago. all fluids are fine, not low...what could this be? husband already said it could be rod knocking

If you are the original owner you should take it to a dealer for diagnosis as it should be under warranty. If you are not the original owner then I would still suggest taking it into the mechanic of your choice to have it looked at to determine the cause.
