Angry hydrolocking

1st Ill admit Im a girl and dont know a ton about cars. I bought a NEW Avenger. It has 856 miles on it. It recently has been raining here in Florida. I drove the car to the movie theater Sat night then home..(yes it was raining) I didnt drive through ANY water other than that on the roads but nothing more than normal for it to be raining. Sunday around 130p I started my car pulled it out of the garage put it in park got out to help my daughter with her seat belt. Got back in, put it in drive and the car wouldnt move. I turned it off then when I tried to start it again...It sounded like a lawn mower hitting rocks and would'nt start. I had it towed to the Dodge dealership (road side assistants)!! They are saying its Hydrolocked...Is this possible??? They dont want to cover the repairs! I thought you had to drive through a significant amount of water to cause such a problem...Please help with advice on this!

If you have a stock intake I cannot believe that you could get enough water to Hydrolock the motor. Also IF it was Hydrolocked yo should not have been able to start it the next day. It sounds to me like you might have had a timing issue and they are saying it hydrolocked
