Driver's Window Fell Down
Hi All.
Driver's window dropped into the door this morning and the motor won't raise it up. The window motor spins when I depress or pull up on the switch, but the glass does not move. Manually I can pull the window up, but when I release it, it falls back into the door. I popped the door panel off and there appears to be a disconnected/ broken cable that looks like it should connect to a circular, grooved pulley type wheel towards the top, inboard area of the door and the pulley (about the size of a half dollar) is mounted to a vertical rail that is about an inch and a half wide and at least 18 inches long. I think the broken cable is suppose to spin and unspin from the pulley, but I am just guessing. And the vertical bar the pulley/wheel is attached to may be suppose to move with the window but I am not sure?
I am going to have to fix this myself and I do not have a service manual or prints.
1) Do I need to purchase a service manual? If so, is there a specific one I should buy? Sometimes the manuals sold at the local shop do not have enough detail.
2) How on Earth do you work inside the door without cutting it open, it seems like they put the door assy parts in on the factory line and welded a panel over it?
The Avenger is a 2008 R/T with 160,000 miles and no other problems.
Any guidance is appreciated. Thanks for reading!

For paid Service Manual, The best one available would be a single car subscription from Alldatadiy.com
Other wise, you can make a free account at Autozone.com, go to their DIY section, they have a lot of DIY instructions there on most products they sell.
As for the window regulator, it is attached to the big plastic piece. You have to unclip the window, from the access hole tape the glass all the way to the top. unhook the outside door handle rod to the latch thru the big opening, un-bolt the latch from the door.
as for the reason behind this design is to reduce assemble time in the factory.
Window regulator, door latch, and everything comes out with the big plastic panel.
