2008 - Current Dodge AvengerThe new Dodge Avenger gives a sporty look to the often drab mid-sized sedan class, with the possible future option of AWD and a performance engine upgrade.
I was thinking about buying a 2013 Avenger from the dealership. The info on the dealerships website says it's a 4-speed automatic but when I look up the VIN number it says that it's a 6-speed? Is there any way of telling which one it is positively before I buy it? It is an SE model with a V6 and the VIN number is 1C3CDZAGXDN769958
If it's the 3.6L, it will be a 6 speed. 4 speed is used in the 2.4L. Dealership ads are quite frequently incorrect. I would suggest actually going to the dealership and taking a test drive before buying it sight unseen based off a dealer ad.
Absolutely. I'd never buy unseen but it's over an hour drive. I didn't know that if it had the V6 that it was automatically a 6 speed. I thought it was an optional feature that could be added when it was new.
