Default Popping/Crackling Sound in the Rear

It’s driving me crazy! I can hear like a crackling or popping sound on the rear, left area of my 2014 Avenger. I can hear it when someone get in and out of the car. Also, when driving slow, and turning slow.

What can this be? Different mechanics are telling me different things. One said it sounds like the rotors need to be replaced. Even tho my vehicle does not shake when breaking. Another said it sounds like the rear brakes need to be tightened or caliper need replacement.

It sounds more like a strut bushing or maybe control arm/trailing arm bushing, if you are saying that it makes the noise when the car moves up and down from someone getting in/out of the car.

Hi prettyolemecia,

Sorry to hear you are experiencing this, I certainly understand why it would be concerning. To clarify, have you had this concern diagnosed by a certified FCA dealer or have you been working with third-party mechanics? Please feel free to follow up with me via private message, I would be happy to learn additional details of your situation to determine how to best assist at this point.
