Hello good people!
It's been a while since I posted and last time I posted was about my daughter's 2008 Dodge Avenger SE (2.4Liter) intake manifold replacement at 88,000 miles.
Today I like to share a very good experience with one certain PARK's Dodge Chrysler Jeep Dealership located in Titusville, Florida. About four days ago the same daughter's 2008 Dodge Avenger SE (2.4L) developed a loud noise once warmed up and it sounded like a train going through a tunnel. At higher RPMs you could NOT hear this sound but, at idle at the stop light you could.
I never thought to remove the decorative plastic TOP cover of the 2.4 Liter Engine (my fault) and decided to take it to the dealer who replaced the Intake Manifold thinking it was something associated with that work. Needless to say I was embarrassed when the Service Writer and Mechanic followed me to the parking lot and they took off the Plastic Decorative Engine Cover to find plain as day the PVC inlet hose was collapsing on itself and which was causing the noise.
The mechanic went at least three times in-and-out of the shop and finally found a suitable PVC inlet hose replacement. With a little lube spray he installed the newer hose and it was a perfect fit plus it was thicker than the stock as this one will NOT collapse on itself! He told me that if they attempted to order this little STOCK PVC hose it would come with the entire plastic tube that goes behind the intake manifold so, he saved me lots of $$$.
I was already thinking of a large repair bill such as the ADP (Alternator Decoupler Pulley) but, this time it was NO CHARGE!
A few pictures! Sorry no Video!

7,435 Total Miles What a difference a new Air Filter Makes! Mopar all the way, baby! Using the same Oil since the car was new!
