Default Exhaust chopped of at cat!!

So when I did my truck I decided to take my exhaust off at the cat just to see what it would sound like and man does it sound good!. There is just a foot of 2.5in pipe after the cat that way its not right under my cab. I've only drove it 2 times so far(actual tests about 40 miles for both days) But it has a nice raspy but yet still deep sound and its louder than my magnaflow. I was going to do a drive by vid but it was raining yesterday but I only got a lil driving vid going to camp. Hopefully I get one this weekend.

Cool! I used to remove my pipe before the cat when I would take it to the track. It sounded sick like a monster truck. Very loud!!

Do you guys think it would be worth it to do this on a V6?? I noticed most of y'all have the V8's. Don't have enough money to do new exhaust, so I thought chopping it off a bit would be the next best thing.

I dont think it will sound to good on the v6. Go to auto zone or someplace and get a flowmaster muffler for like 30.00 and just put it in place of your stock one.

You need to be aware of the exhaust fumes that may/will enter the cab area. I am very sensitive to exhaust leaks and can't ride in a vehicle with bad exhaust. Some folks are not so sensitive, but I would not knowingly ride in, or allow any kids to ride in a vehicle with no/bad/leaking exhaust. JMO.

Its different in a dakota compared to a ram with my buddys ram the cat is like right under the passenger seat where mine is like a half a foot from the back of the cab I left the section of pipe that was before my muffler and it sticks out about half a foot from the cab so you wont get any exhaust smell and even when idling I still cant smell exhaust.

Wow, I had no idea they were that cheap! ... I guess I was thinking cat replacement also, but is that not completely necessary for just replacing mufflers?

... still fairly new at mods, have a basic amount of knowledge for vehicle maintenance/repairs.

Thanks Ramguy!
