no the 45rfe will not work on the 5.2 because the 45rfe is electronically controlled and the 44re is mechanically controlled with a tv cable and adjustment bands the 46re from the 5.9 should fit on the 5.2
the transfer case options for the truck are the
nv242 which has 2hi, 4hi, 4full time, and 4lo
nv231 which has 2hi, 4hi, and 4lo
you can not use an electronically controlled transfer case on that truck
