pissed beyond beleif!!
So i replaced upper and lower ball joints. Both cv shafts. Inner and outer tie rod ends on both driver and passenger sides. After going through the front end. i take my dakota to the shop for the alignment. everything is good, right?
Not so much. the service tech broke the bolt off control arm shaft. i spend the day tring to get the rest of the bolt out. not so lucky. ended up taking the upper control arm the the machine shop with hopes that they can take the bolt out.
i look at trying to get the shaft itself, but the parts stores don't have them. unless i buy the whole control arm. same way with the dodge dealer.

they were going to charge me for the parts and labor to fix it. even after they broke it. so i just left after arguing over for a while. fixed the truck and went to a different place to do the alignment.
They can't charge you for something they broke... make a big enough scene and they'll fix it. I woulda raised hell if they broke something on my dak.

Make them fix it for free. If they insist on charging you for it, then tell them you'll take them to court if they want to go that route. Either way you have a case. They break and don't want to fix, or they break and won't fix at their expense.
There has only been one time where I raised hell with a company and that was with Canadian Tire surprise surprise.
On my old Grand Prix I was having new tires put on, I bought them on sale from Can Tire so I figured I'd have them put them on. So all I said was to have the tires put on and have it aligned.
I went to pick it up 3 hours later and they went ahead and replaced the wheel bearing without asking me because they said it needed to be replaced before it could properly be aligned. They wanted me to pay the $90 tire installation and $340 bearing replacement on top of the $800 I just spent on tires. I called the Canadian Tire office so fast and after about going through 3 different people, I was speaking to the regional manager of my area threatened to sue them for doing work on my vehicle that I didn't give permission too. Almost instantly he said that Canadian Tire would cover the installation and bearing replacement but I argued my way up to receiving those tires for free.
Bottom line: if they broke it - they fix it and as a customer you are 100% in the clear to raise whatever hell you please until you are satisfied.
I hate to be an ******* with people because I have experienced it myself, but if I messed up then I am more than willing to compensate for it.
You're the customer - you're right.

Happenned to me to. Don't deal with the jerks behind the counter - go to their head office and tell them what happenned. A word of advice - be as factual as you can - You can send a nasty gram and still be polite about it. Don't let them get away with it. Hope it works out for you.
