Ok now not all of can afford the initial or running expense of a supercharger, or anything that really consumes a ton of gas as a trade off for power. Here is something that only requires a little elbow grease and some *****. It can be quite fun. Some of us may already have done this, if you have give your experience.

Warning, if you don't think you are a good driver or don't think you can handle high stress situations or are prone to heart problems, don't do this.

Remove your spare tire completely, just take it off and leave it in the house. I know its really simple but it works.

Because of the reduced weight on the rear wheels, your tires will spin, you can perform donuts, it makes you quite a bit faster...I noticed it, some fish-tailing, on gravel in 4-wheel drive you can get the tail out easier for drifts. Now this won't give you the results of more hp/tq but if your looking for a little fun without any cost, its a good way to have cheap fun.

I thought it would be something I would just mention since it something a lot of us have but never really pay any attention too.

What's a spare and rim combo, maybe 60 pounds or so?

Well an alloy rim is supposedly 15 pounds, and tire is around 40 on tire-rack depending on size/brand/ect. So 55 pounds. I'm sure it's noticable.

Ya well with my basic mods of filter, exhaust and a superchip, when I get a bed extender I am permanently storing 1-2 60lbs. bags of sand in it. Cause right now I there just isn't enough weight back there. If it rains I instantly have to go into 4 wheel drive

 

What tires you using? My bfg's were almost like racing slicks and I never really had a problem with traction.

 

I've said this before, I'll say it again: I'd rather oversteer than understeer. Slicks in back for me.

 

I am currently stuck with what the previous owner's tires which are Bridgestone Dueler H/L. They are tread wear 700, these damn things are hard as rock, they don't heat up enough to soften the rubber. I can't comprehend why they are rated so highly for wet traction, they have none unless they are hot which doesn't happen on cold water.

I am hoping to get Nitto Terra grapplers before winter.
