Default 2016 Chevy Colorado

So I kind of died from happiness this morning. So while everyone was asleep my insomnia and I decided to surf the interwebs about well, just about anything. I decided to wonder onto Chevy's website and being like everyone else here I eventually made my way to the truck section. Guys they redesigned the Colorado and it is now a mid-size with a 2.8L turbo diesel!! It supposedly will be available on any trim model or set up. From photos it looks like it will be the same size as the Daks quad and extended cab (18ish feet long, 5.5 ish wide). The engine already in existing applications makes about 180 hp and 350 ft lbs. Supposedly it is going to be updated again and make about 200 hp and 370-380 ft lbs. With perhaps 28-30 mpg

So for the next year or so I will be praying at night that someone with power demands "we're going to be put a 6 speed manual in it". That day will be one to celebrate, with a 9,000 lbs or better tow rating

Sorry for the randomness and non-dodge related vehicle, but this was too awesome to not talk about. I openly accept and berating, stockades, tomatoes to the face, etc.

Thats a nice looking truck. And it's a real truck, not some unibody Honda Ridgeline wannabe. I was waiting for one of the automakers to jump back on the midsize truck bandwagon. Now, they better not make it too big or expensive or it will meet the same fate as the Dakota. I'm glad to see the diesel offering. The government just makes it so hard for automakers to put diesels in cars, it's usually not economically worth it with all the regulations they have to meet. For example, Dodge sells the Journey in Europe with a diesel in it. Can't get it here.

A diesel in a midsize is something that I think a lot of people have been waiting for in the NA market.

Too bad I refuse to go back to GM... That Ram ECOdiesel looks nice though hahaha.

I'm debating whether to delete this thread

I wouldn't buy a GM vehicle if it was the last thing out there.

I do think Dodge (Fiat) made a mistake dropping the Dakota.

If there was a 2018 Dodge Dakota with a 3.0 ecodiesel in it. I'd by it in a heartbeat. Especially if the SRT division did the styling, then I'd just hand them my wallet. Seeing as there isn't and I love both Dodge and Chevy/GM (I have hatred for just Ford and Toyota), I will be buying a Colorado in 2018.
