possible newbie from the Ram side
can i get your guys opinion on some things. i have been trying to find something with no rust at all & with the lowest mileage possible. my only requirements are that it has at least the 4.7L & has 4WD. i have been also looking around Myrtle Beach (since the in laws live down there). but seems like everything down there is not 4WD. i have found (that are in the price that i want to spend) have mileage around 130k-160k, which after reading seems like it should still have a decent amount of life left in it. but there are some that i have found that are over 200k-220k. should i rule those out? i know it's hard to say & there are many factors, but i was just wondering in general.
My original engine lasted till 247,XXX miles. We have other engines with more mileage than that.
Trucks in the south tend to not have 4x4 because of the lack of need. Only off-roaders and farmers down there really have a demand for 4x4. Virginia might be your best middle ground, doesn't snow too much (less salt) but the weather still makes 4x4 a wise purchase. Add in with military bases and tradesman work, there is bound to be a least a few good ones for sale there. I know that really isn't close to NC/SC, but trying to give you the best place to look. I bought mine off a retired Marine who was stationed at Quantico Base in VA.

thanks for the input. if i find on in VA, depending on where in VA, it would probably be closer to where i am. i'll start searching more in that area. there seems to be a nice one in NC (and it has the 5.9L), but it has 220k on the clock.
