Default take bed off for maintenance

After getting the rear sway bar bushings and end links, during install i looked at those old rusty leaf spring shackles and rusted clamps and am really considering taking off the bed. ( spent it's first 12 years in Illinois = rust) It sounds like it is a fairly easy job with a couple guys needed to lift off. Not really sure what to put on jack stands or support as far as axle, frame, spring. That way i can spray penetrating oil and get a good hold on the bolts/nuts. Plan on using a angle grinder for any stubborn bolts and to grind off/ wire brush rust, then some Rustoleum. I should also take the bumper off, some rust. Rather not rattle can that so considering paying someone to sand or blast then powder coat. About how much $ should i expect for that ?
Since i am there, replace the fuel pump/filter.
should i replace 7 year old Monroe reflex shocks ?, not hard miles...
Any suggestions from experiences ? , thanks
