Stuck transfer case?

I took my dakota to have my 4wd checked out because it flashes when put into 4wd and they said that the 4wd is always engaged and welded together because of how worn it is. Is this true?

no it doesnt, my truck is awd social was thinking he was referring to that

Hhhhmmmm... You have a multi-range t-case? AWD (full time 4wd) 4Hi (part time 4wd) and 4Lo? (also part time 4wd) Electronic shift I am guessing....

yup have all of that, I am wondering if it is just the control module and they didnt know it was AWD because they did say the module was bad too
