Default Paint job

Hello to all,
I have an old (1997 Dodge Dakota, V8 Magnum) that I am pondering having painted. So far the engine and transmission seem to be in excellent condition—I have never had any issues with them. The interior is in a superb condition also. New truck prices are out of this world; even used truck prices have skyrocketed. On top of that, I don't think these types of trucks are of much value, even with a top-notch paint job. Another thing is that because it's so I can't have it fully covered and should I have an accident, the insurance company will total it in a heartbeat. I know that a cheap paint job won't last, so I want to have it done professionally, which will probably cost approximately $4000. Maybe I'm answering my own question, but I would sincerely appreciate your thoughts, please?

Thanks in advance

If it’s worth it to you and you plan on keeping it, sure.

Talk to the local body shops, see if you can find one that will work with you, and let you do as much of the prep work as possible. That'll save you some coin.
