Default Air intake opinions

Hello!

I am new the forum and just started to look into some after market mods that would help my trucks overall performance.
I have a stock 2003 dodge dakota 4.7l V8 SLT automatic.

I was hoping to know if it would be better to install a cold air intake or a short ram intake.

If you have installed either one, what brands are good to go with and was there noticeable improvements in hp and torque?

Cold air intakes do nothing but provide noise and looks. No performance gains. A cheap ebay CAI will do the same thing as an expensive K&N, so it's all about what you want it to look like.

Thanks! Do you have an recommendations for mods that actually improve on hp and torque? (outside of a tune which I'll be getting.) My truck runs really great overall, but I feel like a snail trying to get merge onto a highway. Getting up to 60mph takes forever.

Unfortunately, there just isn't much out there for the 4.7. Not sure there was much out there when they were still in production..... 5.7 swap?

Not gonna lie, that doesn't sound bad.
I know the RTs have 5.7L, are those a hemi?

And does it line up like the 4.7 does or does it need other modifications to adjust it in like motor mounts and new tran? Sorry - I'm new to this type of stuff, only ever had stock vehicles lol. From what I have seen the 5.7s are reliable and flexible with mod availability
