Default Leak Detection Pump code... What to Do?

I'm new to this forum... and frankly to Dode period. I just purchased a 2002 Dodge Dakota SLT... Great Truck! however, my check engine light keeps coming on. I read about how to check the code, and it's p1494. What exactly is the leak detection switch? Do I need to change it? How much is it going to run?

Bought a brand new gas cap... reset the comp... It worked... for 2 days, now it's back on and showing the same code... P1494... What else should I try before I take it to a shop?

only other thing that i know of would be check all the lines going to it, could change those...could be cracked, the pump itself, its a dealer part no clue onwhat it costs, but if the hoses are all good, that would be the next thing, but idk how much ya wanna spend on it before ya take er in and have it smoked.....
