just wondering how often i should be waxing/polishing the truck as i am getting ready to wash it after the winter and had waxed it in November and did not want to over do it on the wax, but still want to have it look nice

P.S. i use turtle wax car wash soap which includes a little bit of a wax residue which is left behind, idk how else to explain it

 

once a year is plenty use some spry and wipe between waxes, you can actually wax off your clear coat...

 

I usually wax mine about every 2 months, it depends how it looks and how much energy I have. I use eagle 1 wax but this summer I wanna try that "ice" stuff. it looks pretty good. I think I'm gonna buff my truck this summer, and see if I can get a scratch off my rear fender that I put on it when I was getting it outta storage.

 

what is this new "ice" stuff that ur talking about sounds interesting

 

drys clear and works awesome i used it last year on the jeep however zimol is way better ice is good for in between or in the sills

i see they now have a clay bar thing mabie ill try it on the dak this spring

ya, I cay bared mine last year and it turned out amazing. it takes all the wax build up off and all the imperfections. it takes an afternoon to do though

how does clay bar work andcan it damage the paint job at all???

 

anytime you soap you should wax. i'll wax mine 2-4 times a year depending on weather. i think if you wax more than that you'll get a wax build up. but if you keep it clean and wash it right you don't have to worry about wax build up.
