Default P0133 Engine code

My dodge just got a P0133 which I looked it up is.

P0133 (M) 1/1 O2 Sensor Slow Response Oxygen sensor response slower than minimum required switching frequency.

My guess is that I need to replace the Oxygen sensor, but I just wanted to make sure before I do that then it ends up being something else. I'm guess it is slow and may go out soon, I'm I right on thinking that?

Well before you replace the sensor you should check the wires leading up to it and make sure they are in good shape. You should also make sure you don't have a small exhaust leak because this could cause it too. The 1/1 sensor should be the pre-cat O2 sensor on the driver's side. If everything looks ok on the truck then you just have a lazy sensor and it needs to be replaced.

It came on a week ago and then went off. I had replace a vapor leak hose, so I don't think I have a leak, but I will check the wiring.

Is the light back on now or did it stay off?

It's back on right now. I'm going to look up under it this weekend to see about any wire problem, but my guess it is the actually sensor. It does have about 98,000 miles on it. Is it a big different in the aftermarket? Would a more costly one do that much better? I have already add cold air intake, dual exhaust, a couple of sizes bigger tires, upgrade the spark plugs when I changed them.

hows your gas milage? usually when they go out, your gas milage sucks and it stumbles alil bit. I would get a bosch one and its simple to replace.

50 is universal you will need to splice... 90 is OEM connector which is what you want

I got a nkg for 75 canadian, and my check engine turned on and off but I replaced it and now works good. My truck would start to die at times, but replace it, mine did that too and replacing it helped.
