ya sure it's the rear?
It seems most people on here have claimed squeaks from the front end. If so it's most likely the sway arm bushings - An easy, cheap fix.

On my 2000 Dakota i had a sqeak in the front every time i hit a bumb, and was coming from around the shocks, and it was my bushings. so that might be your problem..?

I agree with the concensus - check your sway bar bushings. It could also be the shocks or the leaf springs, but first choice is the sway bar. Get a buddy to stand on the bed of your truck and jump up and down while you're inspecting from below. You'll figure it out.

If you've got the poly bushings on the sway bar, remove them, put a light coating of lithium grease on them, and replace them. It'll fix you right up. If they're rubber, you'll need to replace them. which is inexpensive to do if you do the work yourself.

FWIW, I personally prefer the rubber bushings because:

1. They give a smoother ride, and
2. They "usually" don't sqeak until end of life

The advantages of the poly bushings over the rubber bushings are:
1. Longevity - they essentially last forever, and
2. Improved handling performance
