and could someone plz explain why the tranny fluid desolved the sludge to a point where it would come out????

I put about 2 litres of tranny fluid in and I used cheap ATF +3. it was the only stuff I had at the time.

and the tranny fluid has a high detergent in it that will break down sludge and since its thinner it can get into smaller places.

In my old 82 ram 360 I used to put 1/2 litre in every oil change. and it ran soo much better.


and I would never put diesel in with your oil. it will break it down too much and probly cause problems and eat at the seals.

 

I dunno my dads 92 F150 has 256,000 miles (411,991 kilometers) and it kept haveing oil pressure problems because it got so sludged up. so we mixed some diesel and oil. about 50/50 mix and started the engine with it in it. let it idle for just a little bit but not long enough to hurt the engine then drained it. We did this 3 or 4 times then filled it up with clean oil. then only went 1,000 miles on that change and changed it again to be sure. Never had a problem for about 3 years it just did it recently again though because my brother borrowed it over the winter to cut wood in the timber and never changed the oil. he put 2,000 miles of romping through the mud and snow on it. turned the engine into a sludge factory. We tried the ATF trick and it worked also

 

I have a 1995 Dodge ram 1500 with the 5.2 liter.It has 145000 miles.It runs excellent,carries good oil pressure.I changed oil in it and developed a cold engine knock at idle mainly and the knock completely vanishes after truck gets to normal operating temp.The knock sounds to me like it is coming from the intake area.The engine purrs like a kitten.Powerful.It runs as good cold as warm but has the knock when cold.It did not do this until I changed oil.I used pennz 10w-30 high mileage oil.It is a knock and not a tick.It doesnt sound like its going to throw a rod loud,but very noticable.The previous owner ran havoline 10w-30.I cant figure it out.Has anyone had the same problem?Should I switch back to havoline?Can anyone tell me what it is?Im pretty sure its not piston slap,lifter maybe but I thought they were more of a tick and not a knock.Could it be something with the intake or injectors?Please help.Im going crazy trying to figure it out.

and its probably your plenum gasket that's gone bad. look and see if theres oil in the intake manifold
