Default Car died! Need help diagnosing, Gas probs?

Basics:

2002, 4WD AUTO, 5.9L appt. 75,000 miles, Quad Cab

A couple of weeks ago, I was driving home, and my truck started sputtering.I pulled off to the side, popped the hood, and about a minute later the truck died on me. I tried to restart the truck, but it just couldn't hold a fire. It kind of felt like the truck ran out of gas.

What I know:

1. The truck didn't run out of gas. I even poured in extra gas in case the gage went bad.

2. The gas wasn't bad, as the previous time I filled it up it was nearly empty, and I made it 3/4 of the way through a tank before my truck died on me.
3. I have no error codes. I followed the procedure of turning the ignition on and off several times, and the only signal I got was "PDONE"
4. I reset my computer by disconnecting my batteries for several hours. I even followed the procedure here online of how to reset the codes.
5. Side note: I have a slight ATF leak, which is coming from a seal around the pan, but I think the problem is irrelevant to what I'm experiencing.
6. There are no visual signs of wire being ripped off or being tampered with.
7. Prior to this incident, the truck was running flawlessly (minus the ATF leak).

I'd like to see if there is something that it might be before I start running flowrate tests on my gas line, taking apart my gas tank, and troubleshooting between fuel filter or fuel pump. I'm guessing it has something to do with fuel regulation. I can't afford to take it to a mechanic.

If you could provide any help, it would be much appreciated! Thanks guys!

It coughs just a little bit, really really weak. Sometimes it will fire for a hearbeat but it won't hold for long.

Ok, so I tried to get a fuel pressure test done, no readings.

I get an initial fire the first time I try and crank it, but it only last a half second before it dies. It won't fire again after that at all. I'll run some tests to see if the crank position sensor is bad.

I already tried that. I swapped it out with the spare that's provided in the fuse box. Same results.
I am getting a brief "whirring" noise when I turn the ignition on, from the fuel pump, so it is getting power.

Do you have to have an idle to get fuel pressure? Or can you get fuel pressure form simply turniing on the ignition? I've never tested fuel pressure before.

Thanks

ull have presure as soon as its turned to on...get a guage...around 30 bucks form the auto parts store...there should be a T- fitting on ur ffuel rail hook er up see what you are geting should be around 30-50 psi... and it should stay once the key is turned on...shouldnt drop.. do this first because form what you have said you are geting spark..so im not thinking its the timing...

Yeah, I did get a fuel pressure gage and I'm not getting any pressure at all. I hooked it up, turned the ignition on, and got nothing. Bad fuel pump you think?

waht it sounds like to me, that or a bad regulator, but notmaly you would just get high readings if that were bad...
