My 4.7 in a Quad cab was better on fuel than a co-workers same model year 3.9 in a Club cab.

I've got no complaints.

v8 is probably, better because it has a bigger engine, but the dakota 3.9 v6 you have to drive it hard which is why it is probably worse or similar, I just removed my cat and now I get 17-18 mpg/ half - highway/city I should get better but it's an improvment of my 200km's to a tank.

that's not a gas hog. My overhead reports my average economy is right around 11mpg.

Mine is not a hogg either. My 04 get between 18-20 city. On a trip from Indy to Buckeye Lake, OH it got 23 doing 70mph the whole way on I-70. No programmer on mine since they will not make one for it.

so maybe you guys just ned to drive more economically
Well different grades and brands of fuel also affect mileage. So doesnt altitude, tire pressure, tire brand, tire model. So many factors to toss in. Vehicles state of tune, accessories, running a/c or not, windows up or down.....If all you drive in highway, of course you'll get better mpg.

actually she doesnt even drive on the highway at all, and she only runs regular(its the most affordable around here) and it has 62,000 miles on it and i dont ever remeber them doing a tune up on it, but it is due for a new set of tires come next winter, i think she has a set of cooper discovers atson it right now and it hasnt been warm enough here for a/c yetbut im sure the way that she drives has a major impact on her relatively "high" fuel economy too

I have and 03 Dak with the 4.7 and I seem to get around 15 to 17. When I am light on the pedal on the hwy I might stretch that to 19-20 that's at 1500 RPM and 80KM/H (50M/HR). Not the best that’s for sure. But then again if I wanted good fuel mileage I should have bought a SMRT car or sprint or something like that. That being said......To all the expert minds - Would a larger (3") exhaust help?
How about a cold air intake and then a chip??? Your thoughts please. Thanks for the help.
