I took my 99 dodge dakota through some pretty deep mud puddles...about 1 foot or so, at a pretty fast speed (15mph) then later on, the truck stalled out...now its really hard to start it, and it idles at a lower rpm and sounds bad. worse yet, when i put it into gear it stalls out completly after 5 seconds...my friends say i just got the engine really wet, and it should be fine after i let it dry out...are they right or did i screw it up worse?
Sounds to me like you got water under your distrubutor cap. Pull it off dry it and put it back together, no big deal. Just out of curosity shen your friends say "got the engine really wet" what does that entail to them?
yeah it starts...but it chugs alot as it starts. then the idle is really bad...doesnt get better even after a few minutes. right now im just lettin it sit and dry out
