Leaky trans.
Everytime i drive any distance, i get out of my truck and always check to see if there is anything leaking. I've been noticing that my truck leaves a little puddle about the size of a dime on the ground. And today i had to put it in 4wd (had to dive down into the backyard) and i parked it in the driveway. I came back a little while later and checked the ground and noticed a bigger "puddle" about the size of a half doller. I lookedunderneith it the first timei noticed this and theT-case and tranny pan was covered in tranny fluid. (not alot, just a coating of it.) And also, when i stop at a light or stop light, and i go to accelerate,my tranny doesnt shift into 2nd until like 3or 3.5 grand. Is that normal?I knowits a bit of information, but i explained a best as i could.

when was the last time your serviced your tranny? It could be a bad gasket causing the leaking. Not sure on 2nd to 3rd.. im alsways on mine so i normaly dont shift till about 5200 or so..
Oh yea, just in case if you guys were wondering what the truck is, it's a: 99' 318 4x4. When i was underneith it, it looked like the pan wasnt that big. If i were to drop the pan, is the filter easy to get to?

I think i'm gonna get a tune-up for my truck. So that way, they can change my oil, oilf filter, and all that cool stuff. Doauto shops like jiffy lube and sts usuallychange the tranny fluid and filter too?
Until you can get to the tranny fluid change, you could check the torque on the pan bolts. I had a leak on mine and my bolts had backed off some over the years. Not loose leaking all over the place or anything. But enough to let fluid seep out and form small drops like you mention. I did a re-torque on the bolts and stopped my leak.
id stay far away from jiffy lube, do the work yourself, more pride doing it yourself than letting someone else do it, plus half the time they say they did the work, they dont, big controversy on that end.. if your really mechnically iliterate, if i were you, id bring it to a stealership, and let them do the work, this way anything goes wrong, its the company who produced the vehicle, is at fault
