User2006- when you say a "cut-out" right before the muffler, what do you mean by this?
someone correct me if im wrong....

its basically an opening between the headers and the muffler, that the driver can control by switch. When you so wish, you can flip the switch, open the dumps, and the exhaust will come out right behind the headers (bypassing the muffler and rest of the pipe). Generally used in racing. Basically makes more power, because the exhaust has such a shorter travel. After all, the faster you can get the exhaust out, the moreefficent theengine is. -Just don't pass a cop with the cutouts open! lol

cutouts are great. get a spintech muffler and 3 inch pipe.

I've had the Gibson split rear on my 3.9 for a few years and have always liked the sound. My dad put a Gibson on his old 5.2 and it sounded really good as well. I haven't personally heard Flowmaster or Magnaflow on my truck to compare sounds though.
