well i'm picking up a fully working A/C compressor out of a wrecked dakota for 50 bucks this week. Is this going to be a pain to install? To be honest i'm not to worried about the actual install but what about charging the lines again? do i need special equipment or can i just buy the stuff and do it myself?

 

Easy as can be to install. Make sure it;s the same as your old one.
After it's all buttoned up, Put a vac-pump on the system for 15-20 mins.
Also, while charging with your 1st can of 134, turn the clutch assembly
by hand 3 or 4 turns before you turn the a/c on to charge the rest.
50 bucks is a good deal!

 

where can i get a vac pump can i rent one or would it be cheaper to take it somewhere?

 

harbor freight had them on sale for 10 bucks last week.

 

Just looked at their site,.. The Vacume pumps are still on sale for 9.99.

 

i love that store, i call it the one time use store but good for stupid crap that you never use again..
