should i buy an electric fan
hey so i was thinking of buying an electric fan for my 5.9....is it worth the money though? i see some say gains of "upto" 18HP and so forth. With an electric fan would i still need to keep the clutch fan? and if i dont is it hard job to switch them out? mainly is removing the clutch fan hard? heres a couple of the fans i was thinking of getting

RE: should i buy an electric fan
with a good electric system you dont need the clutch fan its fairly simple to take off just a few bolts As far as being worth it well every small mod you make adds to the big improvement from all mods combined a lot of people have switched i say go for it if you want to spend the money

haha yea im just not sure yet...because most of them seem to generally be 400-500 and i dunno if i want to spend that on an exhaust since its already got a rumble to it stock, or headers or what haha..but it seems like the noise under the hood would quiet down a bit too as well if i switched out

Yes!! It's a great upgrade. 1 large nut takes off the clutch fan.
Save yourself some money though. Go on ebay and get a Lincholn Mark VIII Electric fan! They are a LOT cheaper than an aftermarket setup, and dual speed, and they can blow 4000CFM on high! Width and height wise they are a perfect fit, you will need to trim about 1/4" off all the way around the shroud so the fan sits closer to the radiator so the motor will clear the water pump pulley.
Just get the fan and a few relays, or if you want to spend the extra dough you saved get a nice electricfan controller from Jegs or Summit.
I just used 2 relays, the fan comes on automatically when the ignition is on, and then I have a switch that controls another relay so I can switch the fan from low to high if needed. On high they draw about 30 amps though, so make sure you use some 10G wire for power and ground. You can get away with 12G wireon the 12V+ for low.
Here is some links to a couple Buy It Nows on Ebay.
