heater core help

Default heater core help

i am changing the heater core in my 2001dakota and wondered if anyone had a manual with some illustrations to help me get the heater/ ac box out of the dash...thanks[X(]

from what i hear ur better off having the dealer do the work.. u get a warranty with it... from what i understand the whole dashboard has to be removed

WHole dash has to be removed. A/C needs to be discharged.

Best off to head to the library and see if they have a repair manual for a dakota (even a haynes for a 97-99 dakota should work), read through it and see if you really want to tackle this. It does take a while and you will need a second pair of hands.
