Default Hard to start

Okay first time Ive had to post a problem on here...Went to the beach a couple of days ago fishing came back and went to the car wash to rinse it off....I rinsed it and got some water under the hood but not much. It wouldnt start, it would crank though finally after about 10 mins it started but ran REALLY rough. It has done this before but not as bad. Now I have to try for 10 minutes before it finally starts and runs. I hooked up my programmer and recieved no trouble codes. That being said Im lookin for help from anybody......

i had that on an old truck of mine the starter was bad everytime somethin got went under there the starter wouldnt work then eventually died...i think there was some exposed wires under there...if its running rough and u have to wait it sounds like theres some sort of wire that was exposed to the water, check all ur spark plug cables for any wear thru the shielding, check wires going to alternator and starter to make sure there covered and not exposed as well

simply check to see if moister is geting under your distributer cap, and check your coil, coil packs as weel check for loosness, and or cracks.

^ +1 on the distributor cap... if the starter was getting full of water, etc it wouldnt even crank or do squat

I had the same problem minus the running rough. Ended up that I had bad battery cables and wouldn't start till they dried.

yeah i had an old ranger that after hitting big puddles or getting too much slush and snow from the road under the hood would cause the truck to stall. lol. I also agree on the distributor cap. and FYI... ^+1 and +2 means that they agree with the post ahead.
