Default Need a little help

Ok guys, i am in need of a little help here. My truck (2000 Dodge dakota 3.9) was parked all winter because I was gone. When i got home and went to drive it this spring the abs light and parking brake light were on and stay on. I did a search on this website and people say that it is the speed sensor. I checked and the speedo works all the way from start up to cruising speeds. So that rule the sensor out. Right? The other thing was people said it could be cleared by starting the truck, putting the parking brake in and releasing it. I tried this and the lights would clear for about a second after it was restarted and then come right back on. Do you guys have any other suggestions I can try or know what it could be. Thanks for any help.

Blake

just disconnect the battery for 30 mins, let the system completely drain, check your wires still and the connections, doesnt hurt to look

I had that exact same problem. It IS the speed sensor. Had to get it replaced. Only like $130 so nothing really to stress over.

well you can pull the code(((put the key in and turn it to the ON position..(not engine running)...do that 3-4 times...on the last time...leave it on the ON position)))...a code should appear...P....

i believe that it how it works!! try it and let me know!!

there is no code for it. I tried that and it comes up as (p done). If it is the speed sensor then my speedo wouldn't read until higher speeds, if I understand right. Everything seems to work fine. So I might just leave it for a bit while I check out other solutions. Gonna get amanual from the library today.
