Default Installing Deck

Just wondering, I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota and when I installed my new CD Deck, everything power wise worked except for the speakers, which worked before, so I'm thinking there is a module in this truck that won't allow my deck to work and needs to be removed. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm thinkin no. You need to check your wiring. Damn near any deck will fit in an automobile as long as you have the correct wiring kit and know how to do it.

Sounds like you've got the infinity system. You need to make sure the the BLUE wire on the adapter harness is hooked to the Remote Turn-on wire from your new headunit. It should also be blue, or Blue/white. If your radio has 2 blue wires, make sure you hook to the remote turn on wire, not the power antenna wire, or you'll only get sound when the AM/FM radio is on, and not on CD.

The Infinity system has a seperate amplifier that needs to be turned on with that wire, or you'll get no sound. Basically you can put an aftermarket radio in any car. Well, except a Mini Cooper S. lol You can do it, but you'd have to mount the radio somwhere else in the car. No where in the dash for it in the "S"'s But yeah... anyways, just do that and you should be golden.
