Default Anybody have info on Harland Sharp 1.7 Roller Rockers?

I want to buy a set of Harland Sharpe 1.7 roller rockers for my 2000 Dodge Dakota R/T but i'm unsure about the performance gains. Does anybody have and actual experience on the performance gains for these? And if i want to buy an aftermarket cam later (krc performance 210x) can i still use it with the 1.7 roller rockers?

I can tell you I had H/S 1.7's on my 302 motor & one of the roller-bearings locked up on me in under 2000 miles.
I'm now using Crane-Cams 1.7's. Had them on my 331 blown stroker motor for 5 yrs now and, I beat the snot out of the car
every time I take it out of the garage. It runs high ten in the quarter & can pass emissions all day long.
You should see the looks I get on hot summer days in the stageing-lanes with the air on then, rip a low 11 or high ten off.
So,.. That's all I have to say about that.

rockers act simular to a cam.. i have the H/S 1.7s in mine 2000 R/T and everyone says it sounds like it has a cam, it adds a little lope to it, and the performance increase is pretty good over the stock 1.6s..

so far mine have been good, they where in the truck when i bought it.. it has about 89K on it..

my dyno was about 270 when i first got it.., im going to dyno it again once i get my exhuast leak fixed and some other mods 52mm tb and Performance PCM.

hopefully ill be pushing 300..soon. without a cam/heads..

1.7 harland sharp rockers and a bigger throttle body will give you the biggest bang for the buck. they're good for up to 30 horsepower at the wheels on a 3.9, so i'm guessing 40-50 on a 5.9. ive heard that the 1.7's wont work with a bigger cam, but you can always get a custom grind cam for probably about the same price. also, the 1.7's emulate a slightly larger cam, you can notice the bigger loping in the engine.

They make cams that will work with the 1.7s... but there is more of an option in cams if you put the stock 1.6s back in..

but you CAN find cams that work with 1.7s.. not sure what im going to do when i decide to cam my truck.. but when i do that im getting new heads also.. so ill probably get 1.6s and sell the 1.7s.. not sure though like i said.

I've been looking at these also. Can these be bolted right on with no modification needed? If not, what all needs to be changed out? thanks guys.

hmm this sounds like an easy upgrade..is this somethin you can do with basic tools or do u need some sort of balancing or spring tool of some sort? or would it be cheaper to get a professional to do it...besides larger valve covers theres nothin else u need to do? a stock engine should hold up good against the new rockers?
