I have a 01 Dakota Quad Cab. In the last 2 weeks it has started doing strange things. The headlights, taillights, all interior lights, wipers, hornand door locks go off simutaneously. My check engine light comes on and I have had the DTC come up as P0601. Have tried to reset by taking neg cable off and turning to start for 15 sec and still doing it. Any suggestions of what to do? I need to get inspected, but with this happening, there is no way it will pass.

 

P0601 (M) Internal Controller Failure Internal control module fault condition (check sum) detected.

You've got an issue. You could try swapping ECUs, or taking it to the dealer for a reflash. That's beyond my scope of experience though.
