if i was to do a new cold air intake, rockers, heads, full exhaust, new throttle body, and chip it, how do you think I would hold up against a hemi ram? Also which chip would you guys reccomend for the 5.9? Thanks

 

Well, you might hold up a little better, but I'm thinking your still going to get beat. As for the chip...I don't know, I do not own a 5.9. Sorry.

 

I think you'd still get your *** handed to you.
If you add up the peak (advertised) gains from all of those it's impressive, but if you were to slap it on the dyno you wouldn't net anywhere near that number. I'd wager you'd net less than 50hp at the tires from all of that, and you'd be out about $2000, depending on the parts you get. You're better off spending a little more and getting a blower that you know will give you 40% more power or whatever it is.

 

I think they make a procharger that would help a whole lot . i spaced that out my bad. or you could go all out and twin turbo it

 

As my truck sit i can out-run a 2wd reg cab hemi ram pretty easily. But i do have a lil bit of money invested. I havent been into the block so all my mods are simply bolt-ons.

 

Just drop a hemi in lol. If you are going to be trying to beat one, just find a used hemi with tranny drop it in bore out the engine while your at it drop in higher compression and larger piston larger crank, better connecting rods, the works. You could make it kill with that like up top 525 hp

 

??? Umm, I've beat plenty of Hemi Rams at the track, 2x4 and 4x4,and that was before the S/C. Just with Intake, exhaust, MSD, and U/D pulleys at the time. They really arent that fast. ???

 

Best mod to beat a hemi ram? Better driver in the other vehicle. I have no problems leaving my brothers ram when he tries to follow me.

 

i was gonna say i thought the 5.9 would be able to hold out fine against a hemi ram...arnt the rams alot more heavier? also with a blower wouldnt u need forged internals or u might blow somethin out?


also that R/T pic up there is god damn sexy i think popped a nut on that i love the exhaust and the skirts on it..rims are also coool...the whole damn thing is nice

 

Thank you.. the Rims are actually used on the Dakotas.. they are American Racing RT-S's 20", The body kit is Also used on the daks its the Sniper Kit. I plan on putting both on my dak.. but its very expensive. 2200 for the body kit and about 1000 for the rims.. plus tires 1500.. 3700 total.. i think ill hold off.. lol.
