I would get a tranny flush done.

but if it happens again, pull over and put it in neutral and rev it at about 2k for a lil bit till it cools down.

the light is an idiot reminder thats all. most vechicles have them now. dont be alarmed. we were cruising home from loudon new hampshire from the races one weekend with the trans temp guage on 3/4 of the way . it is just telling you to becarefull. thats all. get a fluid flush and see what that does.

Default update! RE: when the trans temp light comes on

well from doing a few more test drives and the warning light and the O/D off light only comming on when im on the highway, that tells me the overdrive unit has a problem, but which in turned screwed up everything else cause the shifting has gotten rougher and shakes the truck more then normal when the shifts happen.. so im defiantely lookin at a rebuild - stronger O/D unit, stronger clutches, possibly a higher flow fluid pump, get my aftermarket tranny cooler installed, and if anyone else has an words of advice on stronger parts, dont hesitate, thanks

... i know i know, have her flushed but i got that feeling that wont do squat, but hell let a transmission place diagnose it first, but still most likely lookin at a rebuild, and of course, Mopar atf+4 only goes back in, too weary to use royal purple and dexron mercon is a nono
