Default Helix coil

I need to install an 02 sensor on a cat that does not have a spot to screw an 02 sensor into it. So i was told to use a helix coil to drill a hole into the cat so that i can put the o2 sensor in. Has anyone ever used a "helix coil" and installed an o2 sensor before?

It's "heli coil", and I've used them, but not for that. I don't know if the wall of thecat is thick enough for that to work. Usually what I've saw isa nut for the correct threads of the sensor is welded on top of a hole drilled in the exhaust.

tip: when you drill, put grease on the drill bit to catch all the debris so it doesnt go into your cat

yea it normally should go before and after...but if u must put it in the cat for whatever reason that is..ive done the whole weilding a nut into a drilled hole and then screwed something that matches the threads...works pretty good i suppose if u do it right
