Default another tranny bites the dust

haha, the transmission in my dakota is gone, she will move but it's shot, a thrust washer blew apart eating everything alive pretty much, explains why the atf has a nice gold color too it, transmission pieces in the pan, makes for a good time.. well im sending her in tomorrow to get rebuilt, what should i have done, i only have about $2300 to play with and its about $1500 standard rebuild. i know to start with better clutches, bands, shift kit, aftermarket tranny cooler, im also looking at a stronger O/D unit, anything else?

get a new radiator if your gonna run your tranny cooler through it. meangreen rebuilt his tranny and didnt replace his rad and then she ended up going again. so while its there, I would buy a new rad for it.

since its a 4x4, get the T case looked at too.

It depends if your rad is bad, and wether your rad caused the problem.

newer dodges have a check valve in the cooler lines. be sure they are not cloged with trans pices before the rebuilted one is put in
