Just got my Performance PCM Installed, got it USED, installed it and the truck started and then died.. tried it 3 times and it wasnt getting anymore fuel..

so i disconnected it and reinstalled the stock pcm.

Im pretty sure the reason is becuase i need to get MY vin and milage flashed on the pcm (im hoping that the problem)

but the question is, the securirty on some daks suposably blocks the PCM from being used in other daks, just wondering on how you can figure this out or some type of reading a dealership can do.

Im taking the PCM down to the dealership tomorrow to have it flashed with my VIN and such.

Hope that works.. if not then looks like im on the search for another PCM..

 

the technology in todays vech. is not that diff. from each year. should have had your factory one flashed and there would have been no problem. just the down time that the truck would have needed.

 

Im going to switch them out.. so i needed my Factory pcm.

Either way I have to have 2x PCMS one stock one Flashed for performance.

like i said im pretty sure its the VIN, 98 and earlier didnt have to have that, but 99+ did. O well not that big of a deal.

Im aslo going to be doing Dyno tests between the 2 so i can post evidence of Hp/Tq it gives you. For the people thinking of buying it.
