Perhaps because putting a 360 in is more or less a bolt in procedure, whereas putting a Cummins ISB in requires extensive modification to the firewall, floor, transmission tunnel, and more. Never mind the fact that the ISB weighs about eight hundred pounds more than the Magnum, and the frame and suspension have to be completely redesigned.

still, its a neat idea if you ask me, you can always shove in the 3.9 4 cylinder ISB cummins, less modification work, eh what can i say, i dream up big ideas

ouch, that was a low blow, thats not the only problem, its praticality of the job and budget, would i do that to my truck?.. some day down the road, do i want to? yes.. can i afford it now? hell no.. and why limit yourself, you know? have fun with it, it's life, enjoy it, yea **** happens but don't let that slow you down.. and i happen to be a diesel tech, so the smell and sound of a diesel is a beautiful thing, personal preference nontheless..

...and pretty much with the 360 v8 as the cummins, drive train upgrade, computers, suspension and frame upgrade ( to handle a heavier engine then what was present), etc, there's stuff around the internet about it

The 360 isn't any heavier than the 318, and it's probably about the same as a 4.7 as well. The 2.5 and 3.9 are marginally lighter though, but not so much that the frame is different.
