Default Speed Sensor Trouble

2000 Dakota 4.7L...Six months ago I had the "output" speed sensor replaced. Today, I took it back for the exact same symptom (won't shift above 2nd gear, speedo works fine). Mechanic said this time it was the "input" speed sensor. Same part number, 8037155,and charged me another $200! Does this sound legitimate? I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Default RE: Speed Sensor Trouble

Wow, I replaced my output speed sensor for abou 20 bucks, it's on the left side of the output shaft of the transmission. I don't know if yours is any different. Not very difficult, just a little oil drainage
