RE: how many miles
My father had 390,000 mines on an 89 dakota v6. That truck was impossable to kill. The engine smogged in California as clean as a new car and the block had never been opened. The tranny was rebuild at 150k, which put 240k on the rebuild before it went out again, putting the truck under for good. Assorted repairs included drivers side exhaust manifold, fuel pump, several valve cover gaskets, TPSs, ext., but all in all the best vehical he has ever owned. Drove 30k a year in and year out, hauled loads, off roaded occasionaly, most of the paint sandblasted off by desert sandstorms, all in all abused and it never quit.I woukld have taken the truck form him but i lived in a apartment at the time and couldnt store it. I wish i still had it.
My current 03 R/T has 51k on the ticker.

I got 216,000 on my 1999 dakota.unfortunately it started shutting itself completely off in the middle of driving.took it to dealer and said that the PCM was bad.(it would cost $900.00 to replace plus labor).anybody has a used one?It still runs very strong(well when it doesnt shutt off by itself)

LOL, I changed my diff fluid last year and found that. $1,000 later she was good as new. you will need a whole new casing if its been like that for too long.
