Default a/c question 4.7 2001 quadcab

is there a way to disable the a/c without, cutting wires or pulling the fuses which would also disable the fan, heater and the defrost? thanks in advance for any ideas.

Check the power harness that connects the A/C compressor under the hood to see if the harness can be disconnected or unplugged.

You might need that A/C in the winter to help defrost...

But if you are trying to save gas or something, I would take off the drive belt...

lol you could let all the refrigerant out of the system then it will cut off due to no gas.... course then youd get *** raped by the epa and would be a rather pain when you can just un do the wireing...
