ABS/brake light on, no speedo problems
I have 49,000 miles on my '97 Dakota. Sometimes the pedal gives more than it did before the light came on. I checked the brake fluid level and it was FULL.
The local repair guy told me only the dealer has the diagnostic for the '97 Dakota (is this true?), but said he checked the continuity for the sensors and they seemed ok. He said it was probably the controller or ABS pump. I only have the standard ABS on rear that came with it. I have no speedometer problems, and wonder what's the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated! Also, if it is an expensive fix, am I ok driving it without repairing it?
