Hood? Urg..
I was looking into getting the Viper-Style hood for my '01 Dakota... one problem, they only seem to make them for V8 and mine is a V6... apparently it's not compatible with a V6. It talked about having to upgrade with this: Functional Ram-Air Applications - 4.7/V8 only: Order GHD-20247 hood and ram-air upgrade kit GH-DBX47 to add cold-air induction for increased performance for 4.7 engines only.
Am I just reading that wrong or is it saying that you have to upgrade if you have a V8? It's late, so if that's the case you'll have to forgive my stupidity. Sound like an OK deal for a Viper hood if that is the case? The hood is 3rd on my list for upgrade on aftermarket, it's all for looks. I don't do anything performance wise--I didn't even anything with my Grand Prix. So yeah, it's for "show" not "go".
Would appreciate any guidance
EDIT: Found a few other places w/cheaper prices, so pretty much I'm in a rut with whether or not it'll go OK with a V6.

RE: Hood? Urg..
basically a hood is a hood. what they are talking about is the air filter assem. if you get the hood you need a different style air system that routes around the hood. thats all. and if you get the hood you may need to fabricate one for your truck. a simple pvc piping and a cone style filter will work. it might not be the best looking but it will fumction
