Cold Air Intake
I have a cold air intake and between the filter and the throttle body i have a plastic hose (dont know how to explain it) and i was told that with mine i may not be getting a constant air flow because its not a smooth surface and that the air may be swirling around in there and doing more harm then good.... Heres a pic

I was thinking that i would make my own with pvc pipe. I figured that i could spend a 1/4 of the money and make it just as nice and the way that i like. My buddy made his for his 11.7 sec 99' Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and it looks, sounds and works great... What you guys think?

RE: Cold Air Intake
i made one for my 2003 qcab 4wd 4.7 out of 3" pvc ( sch. 40 ) and ran to the factory air box with k&n filter( square ).it's laid out a little different because of the engine difference's. i used one 90 degree elbow, 16" straight piece approx. , two of the 3" rubber couplings ( at lowes ). i got a 0.5 mpg increase but it sounds mean as hell when u hammer it( a swarm of hornets under the hood ).
