you don't have the power outlet? My truck has the cigarette lighter and the Power outlet. The cigarette lighter only is turned on when the truck is on and in accessory. The Power Outlet has a constant power supply.

Yeah the newer trucks, the only way to get constant power on the cig lighter plug is if you purchase the "Smoker's package" Then the outlet is powered all the time.
You could always run your existing power outlet's + lead directly to a constant source too. Instead of having another outlet hanging around. Just cut and cap the switched 12V+ wire that's there now and run a new one to the Ignition harness and grab the constant 12V wire in there. Should be Pink/Black. Just make sure to fuse it.

Dakota_24, my 02 has the same problem. It's a easy fix (at least it was for me).
Find the fuse for the power outlet. It's located inside the cab on the left side
of the dash.
Remove that fuse and use a inline type fuse holder and hook one end to the
output side of where the fuse use to be. I believe it's the right side. Use a
volt meter (or light type tester) and locate any HOT all the time un-used
fuse socket. Simply connect the other end of the inline fuse holder to it.
Use a 15 amp glass fuse and you're done.. You can still get the fuse box
door back on also.
Get some help from a friend if you are now corn fused! lol
Yea, the Dodge engineers were not thinking when they installed only
ONE outlet.. Remember, the 02's don't have a cig lighter anymore.
Good luck
