i just got my 98 dakota sport ex cab, and it has the little jeep 2.54 cylinder. it isveryunder powered so i have been thinking about a small turbo kit. has any one donethis, or even heard of it?

 

I believe there are kits out there for the Jeeps, should work on your truck as well, but not positive. But you could always make your own "kit". That's the great thing about turbos, you can pretty much mock them up to any motor.

What other mods do you have right now?

 

still stock, but im trying to figure out the cutom intake im going to make. i was also thinking of a swap that way i can set up the turbo before its in the truck. i was thinking about a jeep 4.0L inline6 cylinder. i think the engine mounts should be the same, im just not sure if the trans would work.

 

I think the newer 4.0 HO's have the same trans. Not 100% though. I do know the older ones (like pre 1990 with the regular 4.0 have a different trans.
