Default Window removal

Hey guys just a quick question regarding removing the windows. Im looking to take mine out to tint them so i can make sure i do a good job and was just wondering how hard it is and if theres any certain things i have to watch for. I had the door panels off the other day to change out my speakers but didnt feel like taking off the water guard or whatever that thing is. Thanks for any help or tips. It has power windows if that matters.

Basically just pull the water shield off and look at how its mounted. Generally the window has to be mostly down before you try to unhook it. You will have to angle it a bit and it comes out on the outside. Just be carefull and dont scratch the door frame or drop the glass.Although tiniting it this way may be real easy to scratch the tint trying to reinstall.

Why not just have it professionally done? I can get my 2 fronts and my big rear windows done for a bill. (100$)

I was thinking the same thing. You are about to spend a whole lot of time on that project, and your work doesn't come with a warranty.

Some people just like doing things themselves.

Plus the tinting shops in this area I wouldnt trust tinting a drinking glass..

Oh BTW dont try to take the rear window out. Its glued in. Without the correcttools to do that you'll end up shattering it.

Be very very carefull when reinstalling them. I took mine out and had a shop tint them. When I was putting my passenger window back in the tint got scratched and ripped a chunk out just smaller than a dime. Look inside the door from where the window goes in before hand. Theres a few sharp sheetmetal type screws there to look for. Good luck.

i would just take it to a shop but if you need money the stock tint isnt that bad. you might as well wait. hey where do you live that you can get the tint done for $100 all the shops around me charge over $200.

Honestly if i were you.. I would take the door panel off and tint it... Your going to do just about as good of job doing it that way, then tinting it outside the truck... So much dust will sit on the window if you tint the window flat on a table or something like that...
