I was looking into getting some extra power to my R/T and i was looking into Superchargers and other forms of forced air induction and i came across a kit from krcperformance.com under their dakota section under the 360 long block section called the Lightning killer kit that claims 320 rear wheel hp and mid 13's in the quarter mile. I was curious as to if anyone has tried this kit and/or how it performs. thanks for the help.

 

Do not buy that motor. All it is is a Mopar Crate engine with KRC Cams, and i was told by a shop when they inspected the motor KRC actually painted OVER the Mopar sticker they peeled the sticker off along with the paint....

a friend of mine also bought a crate engine from them for his ram, the porting on the heads was horrible, and the motor doesnt pull till about 4k rpm.. 1k-3 its pure ****.

Find a ebay crate i saw a 360 carb sell for 3k.. you can get a good crate 360 from fastman or a 408 for about 5-8k.. and kill lightnings..

or hell.. s/c your truck and see who wins... only reason thet are able to beat s is because of the s/c. take it off and its another pos ford.

 

haha good call, but i was talking about the actual kit itself, not the motor. Theres an actual kit called the lightning killer package, it has heads, tb, headers, etc to give the 5.9 i have in my R/T now 320 claimed rwhp. Any difference with the kit over the actual motor you reffered to? thanks for your time man.

 

your truck being a 99 instead of the 03 model might be a problem. go to www.holleycdj.com they take these trucks and build the snot out of them with a 3 yr 36000 mile warrenty. claimed to have 385 at the rear tires. these are special mts project trucks that get a lot of attention in ct. i am sure they can give you a parts list of the items and they have three stages of performance parts for the trucks

 

I just cant get over it is basiclly heads and a cam for 5k, a supercharger is like 3600 on that site. take the other 2k and get headers intake and some
1.7 rockers and you will make stupid power. I could be wrong though.........

 

First install a nice performance cam, port/polish your heads & intake, install valve spring kit & roller rockers, and then install a ATI Procharger! I gurantee you'll smoke those lightnings and if you build it properly you can probably smoke a SRT10 Ram. If your rich you can buy performance heads,intake,twin turbos,etc...
